What is 10-OH-HHCP?

10-OH-HHCP is a semi-synthetic cannabinoid. The name marks it as a hydroxylated form of HHCP (hexahydrocannabiphorol), which is itself a longer-chain relative of HHC. It does not occur in the hemp plant in meaningful amounts. Instead, it is produced in a laboratory: manufacturers start from hemp-derived compounds such as CBD, then use chemical steps to build the HHCP structure and add a hydroxyl group at the 10 position. Because it is made through conversion rather than direct extraction, it is classed as semi-synthetic. On the market it appeared as distillate, in vape pens and cartridges, and in liquids.

10-OH-HHCP vs THC

The difference is mainly origin and structure. THC (delta-9-THC) is the cannabinoid the cannabis plant produces naturally, and it is extracted from the plant material. 10-OH-HHCP is assembled in a lab from other hemp molecules, so it is a converted compound rather than a plant extract. Their molecular structures differ too: HHCP carries a longer carbon side chain than THC, and the hydroxyl group in 10-OH-HHCP changes the molecule further.
